A step to better health.
Our orientation comes from the fields of clinical health psychology, behavioural medicine and rehabilitation psychology.
The patients we serve find themselves in a medical facility going through treatment for an injury or serious medical condition.
This can be stressful and emotionally challenging and patients can face an entirely new set of environments and choices which can be upsetting and confusing.
WHAT WE DO
We teach cognitive behavioral techniques to manage pain, anxiety, and depression.
We educate in terms of the recovery process and teach preventive healthcare tools.
We work as a liaison or intermediary between the patient and the treating professionals to assist in the successful participation and choices which will be health-promoting.
We collaborate with other disciplines involved in the patient’s care to help provide a comprehensive approach to their healing process.
