Patricia F. Gilbert, PhD,the founder of Health Psychology Consultants, has been evaluating and treating individuals in medical hospitals since 1996. Dr. Gilbert completed her undergraduate work in Chemistry from Southwestern University, Georgetown, TX. She received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston and completed her internship at the VA Portland Healthcare System. She specializes in treating patients with complex medical conditions, chronic pain and depression. Dr. Gilbert has training in neuropsychological assessment and evaluates patients with stroke, dementia and head injuries. She is experienced at working with medical teams to reduce ED visits and increase patient’s compliance with medications and life-style changes. Her approach is primarily cognitive-behavioral and solution focused interventions.
Erica Middleton, PsyD received her Doctorate of Psychology from Argosy University. She completed her internship at the University of Utah Neuropsychiatric Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah and a post-doctoral fellowship at Kaiser Permanente. With over 16 years of experience, Dr. Middleton has treated children, teens and adults. She also is experienced in family therapy. She specializes in treating depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment issues, end-of-life care and crisis intervention. Her experience includes working in outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, medical hospitals, emergency rooms, neuropsychological practice and clinical trials. Dr. Middleton has experience in providing psychological assessment and treatment of medically compromised and geriatric populations.
Beneza Marquez, PsyD received her Doctorate of Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She completed her internship at South Texas Veteran Healthcare System in San Antonio, Texas and is licensed in the state of Texas. She is fluent in Spanish and also is certified to provide Biofeedback. Dr. Marquez is experienced with providing psychological services to the geriatric population and in 2007 won the Clinical Trials Participation Award with the American Society of Clinical Oncology. She has lectured on Hematology/Oncology topics at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Marquez has supervised UTHSC and Our Lady of the Lake University students within the Methodist Healthcare System. She enjoys working with individuals, couples and families to find solutions.
